Policy Post No. 11, February 2011

21 February 2011, Balkan Policy Institute (IPOL) published a report entitled: “Public Policy in the field of Rule of Law in Kosovo”, in framework of the project: Public Policy in the field of Rule of Law in Kosovo, supported by Soros Foundation in Kosovo.
The aim of this report is to analyze the field of rule of Law in Kosovo, including the structure of institutions that together create a system of institutions responsible for the field of Rule of Law in Kosovo.
The rule of Law in Kosovo presents the biggest challenge for Kosovo’s Institutions and International Community. The field of Rule of Law in Kosovo is responsibility of Kosovo Police, Judicial System, Prosecutor, but there is as huge difference in their power. These institutions especially justice component and prosecution are facing difficulties and problems to establish a sustainable development of rule of law. On the other hand presence of International community, especially mission of EULEX in Kosovo as a partner of the Kosovo’s Institution in field of rule of Law.
